CABINETThe Cabinet is the general decision making body of the Council and usually meets every six weeks to consider major plans and strategies. All of its meetings are open to the public. The Cabinet is made up of 6 Councillors plus the Leader of the Council. Each Member of the Cabinet is appointed as a spokesperson for a particular area of the Council's work and their current areas of responsibility are: Mr Barry Abraham - Cabinet Member for Residents and Resources Mr George Brown - Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economy, Planning and Property Mrs Dawn Cousins - Cabinet Member for Health and Community Wellbeing Mr Tim Hunter - Henderson - Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport Mr David Pugh - Leader and Chairman of the Cabinet Mrs Diana Tuson JP - Cabinet Member for Safer Communities Mr Alan Wells - Cabinet Member for Children and Young People Decisions made by the Cabinet are subject to scrutiny by the Scrutiny Committee and can be 'called in' by the Scrutiny Committee within 5 working days of the publication of the decision.
