Isle of PinkIn support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Isle of Wight is turning pink throughout October.
Ferry company Wightlink is getting involved too. Its flagship, St Clare, will sport a pink ribbon for wear it pink day on the 31st October, and throughout October the ferry will be used as a floating exhibition to promote the Isle of Pink campaign. Cllr Dawn Cousins, Isle of Wight Council cabinet member for health, housing and community wellbeing said: "The council is extremely happy to support the Isle of Pink campaign and is looking forward to getting involved in a number of pink events. With schools, visitor attractions and local businesses getting involved I am sure the Isle of Lauren Basket, Breast Cancer Campaign Community Development Manager said: "There is a strong community spirit on the Isle of Wight, and thanks to the support we’ve received from local businesses and attractions, we’re sure the Isle of Pink is going to be a complete success." All monies raised from turning the Isle of Wight pink will help the charity to continue funding vital breast cancer research.
