Every time we use gas or electricity in our homes, we are burning fossil fuels – coal, gas, oil and petrol – either directly or to generate energy.
Generating or using energy releases the gas Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere. Carbon Dioxide is the main greenhouse gas which contributes to the threat of global warming.
Over a quarter of the Carbon Dioxide we produce in the UK comes from energy used in the home.

Energy Efficient.Through each house energy is lost in the following ways:
- Walls 35%
- Roof 25%
- Floors 15%
- Draughts 15%
- Windows 10%
You can therefore take steps to reduce the energy that you use by:
- Improving your Insulation
- Reducing the amount of Electricity you use.
- Improving your heating
