Welcome to the Housing and Community Support Services Website. These pages provide information about the range of services offered by the Division for those looking for housing on the Isle of Wight. There is also a broad range of information about housing and related matters across the Island. Our intention is to offer a resource for anyone seeking a home, or advice, or support in improving their living conditions. Housing is the basic need that is critical to all Island residents no matter what their income or needs.
 
We are aiming to provide Island residents with a high quality of living environment, whether in the public, private or owner-occupied sectors. We recognise that housing is a basic common need for everyone. We also recognise that the bricks and mortar that make up the physical structure is not always the only issue in making a secure home. The need for decent standards, adequate facilities, privacy and safety are also key concerns of most Island households.
 
Our aim is to develop an even more coherent set of policies and practices to enable people to remain in their own homes. This will, in turn be the bedrock for sustaining local communities, increasing choice and ensuring the maximum value for money in the delivery of our services.
