Strategies and Plans
Integrated Risk Management Plan
Every fire and rescue service in the UK is required to produce a plan setting out their proposals on how they will deliver improvements to reduce risks in their local area.
We have produced an integrated risk management plan following a period of consultation.
The development of the plan was based on a collection of risk data and intelligence from various sources, e.g. census data, demographics, property density, historic data on road traffic accidents, previous fires etc.

The service plan shows the our key business objectives.
We measure our own performance through a range of indicators against our strategic objectives. We set targets based, where possible, on five-year trend data and plan our activities to ensure we meet or exceed these targets.
Our resources, both financial and in relation to people, are allocated to help us deliver these strategic objectives.

Annual Assurance Statement
The government sets out its requirement for Fire Authorities to produce annual statements of assurance. The principal is that assurance should be clearly given on financial, governance and operational matters and show how regard is given to the contents of the National Framework.
Due to our status as a county fire service, The Isle of Wight Fire Authority has taken an approach to avoid duplication by linking our statement to the information already published elsewhere within the Isle of Wight Council. This statement should be considered in conjunction with our integrated risk management plan.
