Licensing & Gambling Consultations

The Isle of Wight Council is reviewing its Statement of Licensing Principles in accordance with Section 349 of the Gambling Act 2005 and its Statement of Licensing Policy in accordance with Section 5 of the Licensing Act 2003.

The Gambling Act provides for a system of licensing and regulation for commercial gambling in England and Wales and licensing authorities have responsibility for the licensing of gambling premises within their area.

The Licensing Act provides for the regulation of the sale and supply of alcohol, the provision of entertainment and late night refreshment.

Both consultations Start on the 8 November 2018 and close on 30 November 2018.

Boat & Boatman Consultation

The Licensing section of the Isle of Wight Council is proposing to implement a policy regarding the licensing process and requirements for boats and boatman that operate within the boundaries of the Council’s jurisdiction.

The purpose of this policy is to provide clear guidance to applicants and surveyors on the level of compliance required before a licence can be issued.

In order to invite views and comments from relevant stakeholders a consultation is to take place, commencing on 10 December 2018 and closing on 10 January 2019.
