Fostering Support

Foster carer training

Training our foster carers to be resilient, flexible and knowledgeable contributes to achieving the best outcomes for island children in care. Our experienced IW fostering team are professional practitioners who have extensive skills in training carers, so you can carry out the role looking after a child in care with the support to be an effective foster carer.

The role of a foster carer is very rewarding, yet times can be challenging too. Our training programmes provide direction and strategies to equip you with the knowledge and skills to help you to make a real difference to the lives of the children you foster. On occasions we also offer evening sessions.  To book a place, please complete the online send a message to service form.
