Libraries COVID-19 Advice
Service Update - COVID-19
From February 24 2022, in line with the Government's roadmap towards Living with Covid, Isle of Wight Libraries have removed most Covid-related restrictions.
Prior to your library visit:
There is no need to book your visit in advance
Please have your library card with you to keep transaction time at a minimum.
You do not need to book in advance to use a public computer, although you can still choose to book in order to guarantee availability.
In order to protect other users and staff, you may prefer to wear a face mask / face covering inside library buildings, unless exempt.
Do not visit the library if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
Library services are still available online, including access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, newspapers, music, comics and graphic novels. There are currently no fines on late books, so if you still have books which you borrowed before or during lockdown, please do try return them to the library when you can. However, we understand that not everyone will be able to get to their usual library at the moment, so if you are unable to travel, please contact your local library (see phone numbers above) and we can extend your loans.
Public computers are available for customers to use. They do not need to be booked in advance, but please do check with library staff before starting to use a computer. This is so that we can direct you to a computer that has been cleaned and is - wherever possible - appropriately distanced from other computers which are in use.
Free WiFi is available. Please ask library staff for the current password.
