Service Update - Coronavirus (COVID 19)
The Museum of Island History is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am to 1pm.
The museum will close for Christmas at 1.00pm on Thursday 16 December and re-open on Tuesday 18 January at 10.00am
To help keep you safe whilst in the museum;
- Visitors will be encouraged to wear face coverings
- Numbers will be limited
- A QR code is available or you can leave your details securely to register your visit with NHS Test and Trace
- Interactive exhibits have been removed
- Please do not visit if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been advised to self-isolate
The Museum of Island History is situated within the historic Guildhall on Newport High Street. The museum provides a fascinating exploration of Island history from the time of the dinosaurs to the present day. Visitors can view incredible objects highlighting the Island’s diverse historical past; including hands on displays and the latest archaeological finds, as well as visit a range of exciting, changing exhibitions throughout the year.
