In order to fulfil our public sector equality duty, the council is required to publish its workforce profile.  This information is used to help the council monitor the number of employees, recruitment, promotion, training, pay, grievances and disciplinary action by reference to the nine protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

The nine protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010 are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage/civil partnership, pregnancy/maternity, race, religion/belief, sex or sexual orientation.
