Service update - COVID-19

Marriage or Civil Partnership ceremonies and Notices of Marriage

From 19 July 2021 the number of guests for a ceremony in the St Catherine's Room returns to 12 people maximum. This includes witnesses, all children of any age and photographers.

Notice of Marriage appointments will not be available for ceremonies scheduled more than three months ahead. All appointments will be subject to hand hygiene procedures.

We ask that face coverings continue to be worn as a courtesy to staff and others.

Booking Your Civil Marriage or Civil Partnership

You may marry or form a civil partnership in any Register Office or Approved Premises of your choice in England or Wales. Before you can do this each of you must give a notice of your intention to marry or form a civil partnership, in person, in the registration district in which you live.

You may book your ceremony two years in advance but you cannot give notice of your intention to marry more than one year in advance.
