Booking a Ceremony

    Please note that Marriages and Civil Partnerships are no longer taking place in line with the Prime Minister's announcement on 23rd March 2020.

    In addition:

    Notices of marriage and civil partnership are now deferred until we are through the current pandemic period

    Provisional bookings are to be held on a waiting list until the service resumes business as usual

Booking Your Civil Marriage or Civil Partnership

You may marry or form a civil partnership in any Register Office or Approved Premises of your choice in England or Wales.  However, before you can do this each of you must give a notice of your intention to marry or form a civil partnership, in person, in the registration district in which you live.  

You may book your ceremony two years in advance but you cannot give notice of your intention to marry more than one year in advance.

Cancellation Policy

In the event that you need to cancel a ceremony, you will be required to notify us in writing.  

If you cancel:

  • More than eight weeks before the ceremony date, you will receive a full refund (excluding non-refundable booking fee and notice fees).
  • Between four and eight weeks before the ceremony date, you will receive a 50% refund (excluding non-refundable booking fee and notice fees).
  • Less than four weeks before the ceremony date (or failure to cancel), there will be no refund.
