COVID-19 Update

Marriage or Civil Partnership ceremonies and Notices of Marriage

All marriage and civil partnership ceremonies from March 29 2021 can take place attended by fifteen people maximum. Please contact us for advice. Once ceremonies resume social distancing measures will remain in place. Please check with us on how many can attend your ceremony at the Register Office.

No 'Notice of Marriage' appointments will be available for ceremonies scheduled more than three months ahead. All appointments will be subject to strict social distancing and hand hygiene procedures.

Booking Your Civil Marriage or Civil Partnership

You may marry or form a civil partnership in any Register Office or Approved Premises of your choice in England or Wales. Before you can do this each of you must give a notice of your intention to marry or form a civil partnership, in person, in the registration district in which you live.

You may book your ceremony two years in advance but you cannot give notice of your intention to marry more than one year in advance.
