Draft Island Planning Strategy Consultation

The consultation on the draft Island Planning Strategy (and its supporting evidence base), which ran from Monday 3 December 2018 until midday 25 February 2019 has now closed.

The planning department are now working through the significant number of comments received to make sure they are inputted and processed properly. Once this has been done, the comments will be available to view at Officers will be reading through all the comments received and consider whether any changes to the plan and/or evidence base should be made prior to further consultation. 

As well as the draft strategy the council published a series of explainer documents that outline the evidence and how it has informed the proposed policy approach, along with a draft Policies Map showing where the policies apply. You can

The council is keen to hear your views on the draft Island Planning Strategy and what you think should be included.

A paper copy of the draft Island Planning Strategy is available to view during opening hours in County Hall and Seaclose Office Receptions as well all libraries. The draft Island Planning Strategy is available to buy on request from Seaclose Office for £26 (black and white) or £130 (colour).

A member of our planning team will also be available at 30 High Street, Newport, every Tuesday between 10am and 3pm (except Christmas Day and New Year's Day) to answer any question on the strategy and where you can view a hard copy of the document, up until the end of the consultation period.
