Service Update - COVID-19

Cowes Maritime Museum will open and welcome visitors from the 17 May 2021.

We will be open on the following days:

  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Friday
  • Saturday

Visiting hours are 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.30pm.

To help keep you safe whilst in the museum

  • Visitors will be required to wear face coverings
  • Names and contact details will be collected
  • Interactive exhibits have been removed
  • Please do not visit if you have any symptoms of COVID-19

The Museum displays a selection of objects and images which tell the story of Cowes and its maritime heritage. You can see Uffa Fox’s  dinghy, Avenger,  and models of vessels built by J. Samuel White  & Co Ltd of Cowes. The Museum has an extensive photographic and paper archive. The archive depicts yachting and the shipbuilding industry in Cowes. The reserve collection is held within the museum store. This is accessible by appointment only. The museum is situated within Cowes Library and is free to enter. The library also houses a collection of maritime related books.
