New book group! - 'Murder On Mondays' (reading classic crime fiction)

Join us for a new book group reading the authors and novels from the 'Golden Age' of classic crime fiction.
First Monday of every month from 5.30pm - 6.30pm at Costa Coffee in Ryde

'Shady Ladies' Colouring Club

Why not come and have a lovely relaxing colouring session and a coffee with the Ryde Library Shady Ladies (Shady Men also welcome!) which runs on a Wednesday from 2.30pm - 5.00pm.  All materials provided. Come along for as long as you like! Contact Jo or Angie for details of the next meet using the number provided in the contact tab above. 

'Blokes' Book Group

We need men for our men-only book group! The group meets once a month.  Contact Angie using the number provided in the contact tab above. 

'Knit and Natter'

This group meets once every 4 weeks at Ryde Library from 5.30pm to 7.00pm on a Wednesday evening. Bring your knitting - we'll provide the refreshments - and make new friends.

Suitable for all ages and abilities, this group is free of charge and there's no need to book. Please note: this is not a tuition group. Contact the library using the number provided in the contact tab above. 

Free Health Walks and Book Talks

Join us for a walk from Ryde Library followed by a book chat and refreshments. 

Short walks usually take place on the middle Friday of each month, from 10.30am to 12.00pm

Long walks usually take place on the last Friday of each month, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

These events are free but numbers are limited, so please call into the library or phone us using the number provided in the contact tab above to book a place.

Reading Groups

Reading groups meet once a month. Please ask at the help desk or call us using the number on the contact tab above for further details.

Visually Impaired reading group (VIP)

We run a book group for the visually impaired on the 2nd Friday of each month, from 11am. Please contact Jo Dodd on 823825 for more information. 

Museum Display

Come and study the case of artefacts and visual display, which has been provided by the Island Museum Service.

Find my Past

Ryde Library has free access to ancestry website, ‘Find My Past’. Search for your ancestors in census records and use parish records to find births, marriages and deaths dating back to 1538! Pop in to the library for more information or give us a ring - our details can be found in the contact tab above.

Gallery space

The Gallery on the library's upper floor is free to book for your art or photography exhibition. Please ask in the library for details of available dates, and for booking conditions.
If you enjoy art, come and look at a selection of paintings or photographs displayed each month.

LEGO Club

LEGO Club takes place fortnightly on a Tuesday, for children aged 5+.The club runs from 3.30pm to 4.30pm in the children's library.
It's free of charge, and you don't need to book a place. Come along for as long as you like! Call the library using the number provided in the contact tab above for dates.

Rhyme time for under 5s

Rhyme time is an informal session of rhymes and songs for babies and toddlers using bells and rattles, and making lots of noise!
The ‘Rhyme Time’ session, which takes place every Monday (except bank holidays), runs from 10.30am to 11.00am.

Children's Storytime

A regular half-hour storytime for younger children, (ideally between 3 – 8 years) from 11.00am to 11.30am every Saturday.
It’s free to come along, and you don’t need to book in advance. Children should be supervised by an adult at all times.
