Rhymetime starts in September 2019, at the new time of 10.30am to 11.00am, every Thursday. Free singing, dancing and music for toddlers.

Historical Association

At Sandown Library we have an exhibition of old Sandown photos throughout history, courtesy of the Sandown and District Historical Association. These are updated regularly and are well worth a look.

Find My Past

Sandown Library has free access to ancestry website 'Find My Past'. Search for your ancestors in census records and use parish records to find births, marriages and deaths dating back to 1538!  Pop in to the library for more information or give us a ring on the telephone number in the 'Contact' tab above.  Booking is a good idea but not always essential.

Family History

If you would like help getting started with your family history make an appointment for a free one to one, hour-long session in the library.  Sessions will take place on a Thursday afternoon between 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Knit and Natter

Knit and Natter takes place every Friday at 1.30pm at Sandown Library. Whether you’re an experienced knitter or a complete novice, come along and join in the fun. Free tea and coffee provided.


Our free singing group meets on alternate Thursdays at 3.00pm. Everyone welcome, no need to book!

A gentle, creative programme of dance excercises to music. All levels of mobility welcome. Our dance group is free and there is no need to book.

Friday Art Club

The Friday Art Club is held every Friday at 1.30pm.  Practise your art with company.  No instructions given, just bring along whatever you are working on and join our informal group . For more information contact Deborah on 01983 402194.

Lego Club

The Lego Club is held every other Saturday at 11.00am to 12.00pm, our Lego Club is free of charge and there is no need to book. Come along and create models from our huge collection of Lego. Adults welcome to join in!

Please note : There are no Lego Clubs during the school summer holidays.

Cinema Club

Our new Cinema Club holds a film show on the second Friday of every month, at 7pm. Tickets are £3 and booking is essential. Early booking recommended. Contact the library to add your email to our mailing list for future titles.
