Education Appeals

Appeals Timetable

Service update - COVID-19

Following recent government announcements, we have been reviewing our processes regarding appeal hearings. In response to the Prime Ministers statement on the 23 March 2020, limiting all but essential movement, the Department for Education are currently working on emergency legislation and guidance in relation to school appeals. As soon as this is published we will provide further information on when and how appeals will be heard.

You can continue to lodge your appeal as normal, however, at this time, we cannot offer any assurances on when and how your appeal will be heard. This is for all appeals lodged with the Independent Appeal Service, including in-year, September 2020 entry and Exclusion Review hearings.

Due to the decreased level of staff within the Appeals Service and the increase in those working outside of the office, please direct queries to school.appeals@iow.gov.uk.
