We have a range of online short courses in work related or personal development topics. They take between two to eight hours to complete and you can learn at a time and place that suits you. These online courses are available at no cost to individual learners (charges may apply to businesses).

First aid programme

Learn about the key areas of first aid. Increase the safety in the workplace and in other everyday environments. This course is split into four separate zones:

Zone 1: Covers the role of a first-aider. Learn how to approach different incidents and manage an emergency. Gain the skills for basic patient assessment, for minor injuries such as cuts, burns and scalds.

Zone 2: Gain an understanding of asthma, shock, severe bleeding and bone, muscle and joint injuries. Learn about the signs and symptoms of each condition and how to treat these conditions and injuries.
 

Zone 3: Learn about the signs of choking, the signs of chest pains, including heart attacks and angina, and the signs and symptoms of a seizure. Gain the knowledge of how to respond to each of these incidents as a first-aider.

Zone 4: Learn about head injuries, severe allergic reactions, unconsciousness and resuscitation and strokes. Gain knowledge of what the signs and symptoms are of each condition, and what the appropriate treatment is. Learn how to carry out CPR for children of different ages. Understand the legal protection for first-aiders.
