Adult Community Learning Service

The Isle of Wight Council’s Adult Community Learning Service works in partnership with local community organisations and charities. We offer a wider range of adult learning opportunities for adults aged 19 upwards.

For the 2020/21 academic year the Service has commissioned the following partners:

  • Bodster Equine Assisted Learning Centre: Offers courses to help people develop a range of skills. Improving their self-confidence and understanding their emotional intelligence. This is provided in a supervised horse environment. Please note no riding is involved.

  • Coralesce: Supporting adults aged over 50 to use video conferencing tools. This helps people to learn how to network with others and access personal development programmes.

  • Nature Therapy: Drumming for Recovery group programme. This is for people with experience of mental distress. Including mental ill-health, addiction, bereavement, anxiety, low mood or recovery from cancer.

  • Pan Together:  Providing a course with basic cooking and budgeting skills. It also offers opportunities to learn about healthy eating.

  • The Crossley Company: Working in partnership with primary schools. They offer parenting and family learning courses.

  • The New Carnival Company: Providing a range of informal and accredited courses. The courses are carnival craft and performance themed workshops.

  • Vectis Radio: A programme for adults with disabilities or learning difficulties. This programme enables people to become involved in radio production and broadcasting.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, partners will be using online tools and meeting software. The software will include Microsoft teams, Google Meet, Zoom, Facetime or WhatsApp to enable your tutor to stay in touch.
