Primary Admissions Consultation for 2024/25

Consultation on admissions arrangements for Isle of Wight community and voluntary controlled schools.

This consultation is about main round and in-year admissions for the school year 2024/25. This includes the admissions policy for voluntary controlled and community primary schools.

The Isle of Wight Council must by law determine, before 28 February 2023, the arrangements that will apply to school admissions in the academic year 2024/25. This will include a six week consultation period which will end on 6 January 2023.

The consultation seeks to establish the admissions policy for admission to Isle of Wight Community and Voluntary Controlled Primary Schools.

We are seeking views on the proposed change:

A reduction to the Published Admission Number (PAN) of the following schools:

  • Barton Primary School, from 45 to 30
  • Broadlea Primary School, from 45 to 30
  • Carisbrooke CE Primary School, from 60 to 45
  • Godshill Primary School, from 27 to 20.
