Answer: Each green garden waste subscription is charged at £72.00 per subscription, per year.

Question: When can I subscribe?

Answer: Existing subscriptions can be renewed from the 17th of February 2020. New subscribers, including those on the waiting list, will be able to apply from the 2nd of March 2020. The subscription window will close on the 20th of March and no renewals or new subscriptions will be processed after this date.

Answer: Waste receptacles will be delivered within 14 days of subscriptions being purchased.

Question: Can I subscribe part way through the subscription year?

Answer: At present, Subscriptions for 2020-21 can only be taken out between the 2nd of March 2020 and the 20th of March 2020.

Answer: Subscriptions can only be purchased for one year; however, direct debit subscriptions will be automatically renewed annually, unless cancelled.

Answer: Subscriptions can not be taken out for businesses. The Green Garden Waste Subscription service is only to be used by domestic properties.

Question: Can I choose what type of receptacle I am provided with?

Answer: When applying for a Green Garden Waste Subscription you are able to select from the option of:
- 1 x Large 240 litre green wheeled bin with a brown lid.
- 3 x Re-usable garden waste sacks (green)

Question: What can go in my garden waste receptacle?

Answer: Grass cuttings, weeds, small branches (less that 20cm in diameter) and leaves can be put in your garden waste receptacles; no soil or rubble.
Hay, straw or woodshavings/sawdust that has been used for pet bedding for a herbivore e.g. guinea pig, rabbit, hamster etc. can be put in the garden waste receptacle, as this will be biodegradable. Any excess faeces should be removed where possible and put in the black bin. Any other type of bedding e.g. shredded paper, or the soft cotton wadding cannot be placed in the receptacle; neither can cat litter, or animal faeces.

Question: I live in a flat that has a communal bin store, can I still have a GGW subscription?

Answer: Yes, however communal properties may only select garden sacks to prevent causing access issues to communal bin stores.

Question: How much will the Direct Debit instalments be?

Answer: Direct Debit payments are available either as an annual Direct Debit payment of £72.00 or as a monthly Direct Debit of 12 x £6.00.

Answer: No; Direct Debit payments will be collected on the 10th of April each year for annual Direct Debits, or on the 10th of each calendar month for monthly Direct Debits.

Answer: If your Direct Debit payment fails, you will be contacted by a member of the Waste Team to collect the payment via credit/debit card

Answer: Subscriptions that have been purchased by direct debit will be automatically renewed, unless cancelled.

Answer: There is no limit on the number of subscriptions that can either be taken out by an individual or the number of subscriptions that can be allocated to a property.

Answer: Yes; For subscriptions taken out by those on an assisted collection, collection will be made from an agreed location.

Answer: No, there are no pro-rata refunds for part year subscriptions; the charge is for a set period of 1st April to 31st March.
