ICT courses

We offer a variety of ICT courses which range from workshops on using specific applications and programmes, to gaining a qualification in ICT. All our ICT courses are currently offered at no cost.  All courses take place at Community Learning Centre, Westridge, Ryde, PO33 1QS unless otherwise stated.

Essential Digital Skills for Work level 1 - offered at no cost (10 weeks)

Thursday 20 January to 31 March, 9.30am - 12.30pm.

Understand online collaboration in the workplace, gaining the skills to use the internet to solve problems and create basic documents, presentations and spreadsheets.

Computers for Beginners - offered at no cost (6 weeks) 

Monday 28 February to 4 April, 9.30am - 12.30pm.

Cover the basics of a computer and getting online. Start with starting up the computer, the keyboard, mouse and shutting down through to simple Word Processing, accessing and using the internet and setting up and using email.

International Certificate of Digital Literacy - Word Processing level 1 & 2 - offered at no cost (6 weeks)

Tuesday 11 January to 15 February, 9.30am - 12.30pm.Create a document from scratch using the formatting tools, add images and use page layout options. At level 2 create letters with mail merge fields.  

International Certificate of Digital Literacy - Presentation Software level 1 & 2 - offered at no cost (6 weeks)

Tuesday 11 January to 15 February, 1pm - 4pm.

Learn how to create a slide show, draw objects and produce charts, to print and add special effects to a slide presentation.

International Certificate of Digital Literacy - Spreadsheets level 1 & 2 - offered at no cost (6 weeks)

Tuesday 1 March to 5 April, 1pm - 4pm.

Get started on a spreadsheet using formulas to calculate such as sum, average and count. Create charts to display your data and use the chart formatting options.
