Rhyme Time for babies and toddlers
A free weekly half hour session on Tuesdays 11.00am - 11.30am, of rhymes, actions and songs which could help your baby and toddler with their language development at the same time, allowing you and your baby to make new friends. There is no need to book, just come along with your baby and have fun.
Games Club for 4 – 12 year olds
Games Club is on at Cowes Library the 1st Saturday of every month from 10.30am - 12.00pm. There are a variety of different games available, such as giant jenga, knock-down dominoes, twister to different board games for older children such as chess. It’s really fun and children can make friends! If you have any games you no longer want, then donate them to the Library. Children can bring their own games to share too. Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout.
Cowes LEGO Club
Cowes LEGO Club is 10.00am - 12.00pm on the last Saturday of every month. Each month children are given a mission to complete, which will then be displayed until the next month. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Adult Cards & Board Games Club
This is a fortnightly club on Mondays 10am - 12pm for adults to socialise and enjoy playing a variety of card games or board games. If you like to play card games such as Bridge or games like chess, draughts, cribbage of choose from a selection of many more, then come along. If you don't know how to play games, then our Supporters or others can show you. If you have any games you wish to donate to the Library, then please bring them in. Refreshments are available. Adult Crafts & Colouring Club
Held on the 2nd Friday of the month 10.30am - 12.00pm
Come along with your craft project or for some colouring in. It's helpful for beating stress; getting the creative juices flowing and building hand-eye coordination. All colouring pictures, pens/pencils are provided, but you can bring your own. Refreshments are provided.
Philo Cafe at Cowes Library 1st Wednesday of the month 7 - 9pm
This is a monthly event providing thoughtful and lively discussion on chosen topics and an opportunity to talk about the way we and our communities, national and international, deal with the challenges of modern life. Using the form of Socratic Method of careful listening and considered responses the group follows the tradition of a critical philosophy as used by the Society for the Furtherance of Critical Philosophy. No knowledge of academic philosophy is needed as critical philosophy begins with the experience and wisdom of ordinary people. Cowes Library Drawing Group at Cowes Library. Thursdays 2.00pm - 4.00pm or 7.00pm - 9.00pm
If you enjoy drawing or would love to learn, using all types of mediums, then this is a popular class, run by artist Bethany Moore.
