Exhibitions of the amazing art work of local artist Barbara Witcher at Cowes Library

Saturday 11th December and Saturday 18th December 10.00am - 4.00pm

Lifework Arts ( presents the World Premier Exhibitions and sale of the amazing works by Barbara Witcher at Cowes Library on both Saturdays between 10.00am and 4.00pm, Barbara will be making a special appearance on Saturday 11th at noon.

Barbara's personal statement:

“Drawing for me in my youth gave me peace and calm. Survival on this planet can be a challenge. Then came music, a deep felt love and appreciation of beautiful sounds. Discovering a voice, studying, exploring, creating and performing for many years, strengthened my inner self. However, a personal tragedy, my daughters accidental death, silenced this and once again pen and paper became my coping strategy. Painful, overwhelming thoughts, reflection, memories, faded with the concentration required when creating. “Doodles” developed into patterns and shapes governed by self imposed rules. There are many available options when joining two points with a straight line. Triangles and overlapping curves proved a successful starting place. At times a recognisable form emerges – a bird in flight, a cat, my grandson on a skateboard. Repeated intense shapes and patterns with in discovered options. Perspectives, unplanned but pleasing to the eye. Hours can pass…, time stands still. I become completely absorbed…,life goes on”. Barbara

Limited edition prints will be available to buy.
