Ryde Neighbourhood Board is an independent, non-constituted body that came together in March of 2024 to oversee a £20m endowment style grant awarded to Ryde by the UK Government. The fund is part of the Government’s Plan for Neighbourhoods programme and Ryde is one of 75 towns across the country that will benefit from a share of the £1.5bn investment.

The Board is currently drawing together plans that that will set out how the grant will be used to support local people’s priorities over a 10-year period. To support this activity and commence plan delivery they are now looking to recruit 3 new members with expertise and experience in health, education and commercial development.

Ryde Neighbourhood Board is made up of local community leaders and employers, and led by an independent Chair, Steven Holbrook, who will act as a champion for the town, ensuring the Board is community-led and effective at targeting investment which help build a better future for local people.

The Ryde Neighbourhood Board will work closely with local people on investment priorities which will deliver change and steer the long-term vision for Ryde. The Neighbourhood Board will be the decision-making body responsible for leading the development and delivery of the plan across the broad themes of thriving places, stronger communities and taking back control.
