Budget consultation

Isle of Wight Council Budget consultation 2026/27

Isle of Wight residents and organisations, council tax and business rate payers are invited to have their say on the council’s budget and council tax for the 2026/27 financial year.

The council is required to balance its budget so that spending does not exceed income from council tax, grants and other sources. Every year, the council spends around £500 million providing public services that Islanders use every day.

Most of the council’s budget is spent on looking after those people who need us most, through adult social care and children’s services.

Last year we received nearly 700 responses to the budget consultation. It would be great to increase that number and hear from more of you.

This short consultation should take less than 10 minutes of your time to complete.

This survey runs from 8 September 2025 to 3 November 2025.
