Summertime Blues and Jazz Picnic

Mon 17 Aug 2015 12 PM 4 PM

East Dene, Bonchurch
Details: Ventnor Rotary and St Catherine’s will be holding the third Summertime Blues & Jazz Picnic this Summer Bank Holiday at East Dene, Bonchurch on Sunday 30th August 2015.

Fresh from a packed concert at the Newport Jazz weekend, Aydenne Simone will be returning to the Island supported by her Jazz Culture band. London-based Aydenne has been performing for over 25 years, wowing crowds with her deep, powerful voice. Aydenne will be joined by the great jazz trombonist Roy Williams, who has played with jazz greats including the bands of Terry Lightfoot, Alex Walsh and Humphrey Lyttleton, and has toured and recorded with American musicians Bud Freeman, Wild Bill Davison and Ruby Braff.

To make the most of the summer weather organisers have moved the event to earlier in the day. Gates for the event will open at 12 noon, with music from 1pm to 4pm. A covered seating will be provided to ensure it is an all weather event. This year the event is being sponsored by RWE Generation.
