Three Oaks Development – Shared Ownership homes

Three Oaks is a new affordable housing project that helps local people on the Isle of Wight find affordable homes. It is located on the outskirts of Newport.

Three Oaks is a priority project within the council’s broader strategy to meet the growing housing demands on the Island. There has been a 60 per cent increase in the need for temporary accommodation over the past two years.

To help, the Isle of Wight Council is working with Sovereign Network Group and Captiva Homes. Together, they are building homes that suit the needs of local people.

The Three Oaks site will have:

  • 87 homes for social rent – for people who need low-cost housing
  • 58 homes for Shared Ownership – to help people buy a home they might not otherwise afford

The first homes will be 2 and 3 bedroom houses, perfect for first-time buyers, families, and older people who want to move to a smaller home.

The first homes are due to be ready for occupation from summer 2025. Anyone interested in one of the homes for rent should ensure they are registered on the Island Homefinder website.
