Now we are looking for 2 positive, enthusiastic, committed and forward-thinking individuals to join our Catering Team to manage. As a Kitchen Assistant you will work alongside and support the cook in charge and or the assistant cooks, you will help to prepare, cook and serve meals to the people we support in our home and monitor kitchen stock.
We provide vital support to people from all over the Island who are being discharged from hospital or trying to avoid admission to hospital. We also support people receiving re-ablement care, resulting in a vibrant mix of activities and challenges in our re-ablement homes. Having enjoyable and nutritious food is instrumental in our client’s journey and you can play a crucial part in delivering this service.
Your role will include supporting with preparing healthy and balanced meals, in consultation with residents and staff and ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
Although it would be helpful to have previous experience in the catering industry, you will be expected to hold or undertake infection control and food hygiene training.
We are looking to appoint an individual with good listening and observational skills and awareness of the challenges faced by people who need care and support.
You will be expected to demonstrate a good understanding and Knowledge of Health and safety and regulations and to carry out all duties in accordance with the Authority’s Health and Safety Policy.

PLEASE NOTE: Out of Hours Standby and Call Out
You will be required to take part in the Out of Hours Stand-by Duty Rota as and when requested by management. Standby and call out duties are paid in accordance with the IWC Terms and Conditions 2012 document.
