Successful individuals will join a team of enthusiastic analysts, data quality and collection officers, O365 leads, transformation, technology, and system specialists to support the department to meet its reporting, performance management and forecasting needs, as well as providing direct support to end users with core systems.
Job Purpose
In this analytical role working with colleagues across Children’s Services, you will use strong technical skills and experience to drive forward process improvement, the development O365 solutions, information dashboards and analytics.
Reporting to the Data Analysis and Insights Team Lead you will be a main point of contact and knowledge for dashboard development work undertaken by the team. Utilising strong analytical and data presentation skills you will help to support and strengthen the teams analytics, reporting and learning.
The role will involve the design, development and delivery of projects to multiple customers. There is a need to proactively identify efficiencies, streamline processes and work closely with all colleagues to deliver technical solutions, the role will undertake elements of business analysis and communication at all levels.
This role will be based at our Isle of Wight offices, however as part of Isle of Wight Workplace Policy, the successful candidate can undertake their work between home and the office (A hybrid approach) depending upon operational requirements agreed with their line manager.
Local Responsibilities
Working alongside the team, you will develop service improvement solutions on a sound understanding of the business requirements.
Communicate with internal stakeholders in order to clarify issues/ need, deliver findings and recommendations, and seek feedback.
Coordinate with other teams with a focus on collaboration, consistency and good communication.
Testing data process developments to ensure that they deliver against the criteria of the business requirements.
Build excellent networks of contacts and professional relationships with staff in across Children’s Services Department to enable timely production of quality data required.
Collaborate with all services within Children’s Services and share knowledge about and reporting developments.
Undertake data analysis, database troubleshooting, make recommendations to include:
o Data management including advice for data collection activities
o Technical guidance and support
Liaise with relevant senior management for data analysis projects.
Undertake analysis and review of existing processes and make recommendations for improvements.
Develop and explore data visualisation technologies.
General Management
Working alongside the team, you will support service development and improvement based on a sound understanding of the business requirements.

Essential Qualifications
GCSE level, e.g. AS-A level, NVQ level III, BTEC Higher National Diploma.
Desirable Qualifications
Analytics or related Qualifications Degree level or equivalent experience
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Excellent knowledge of a range of data tools.
Proven experience and background modelling data.
Knowledge and experience of data transfer tools (SSIS, Power BI Data Flows).
Experience using reporting and query tools such as SQL.
Excellent Interpersonal skills / Ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
Experience working with Microsoft Access or other reporting tools to extract information.
Evidence and experience of using Excel to an advanced level, including data analysis.
Ability to manage and prioritise own workloads flexibly and in response to business demands.
Aptitude to troubleshoot and explore new and existing data tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and experience.
Ability to carry out assignments with the minimum of supervision.
Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and conflicting tasks, being flexible in response to business demands, often working to tight deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively on a one-to-one basis, in groups, through presentations and through formal reports.
