We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic person who has a wide range of experience, to join our friendly school. The ideal candidate must have a positive can-do attitude. EYFS experience would be advantageous but not essential.

The role of a Teaching assistant is a vital part to any school. The successful teaching assistant will be responsible for working with children who will require help and support with their education and wellbeing, this will include children with SEN.

Candidates will preferably have:

• Relevant NVQ qualifications or equivalent.

• Good standard of English and Mathematics.

• Basic computer skills.

You will be required to work with children individually as well as delivering intervention sessions to small groups, either in or out of the classroom and will be responsible delivering agreed programmes of work devised by other professionals.

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.

The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
