Cowes Primary School is a very welcoming school whose team of enthusiastic staff and governors are committed to excellence and continuous improvement, to inspire and motivate our pupils to achieve their best.
We are delighted to offer the opportunity to join our friendly, supportive staff, assisting in the support and inclusion of pupils with special educational needs within the school. Candidates will preferably have relevant NVQ qualifications (level 3 or above or equivalent) and they must have excellent literacy and numeracy skills as well as being competent in Microsoft Office programmes, particularly word processing.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in an education environment and with a variety of agencies and stakeholders as well as having excellent administration and communication skills. You will be highly motivated, flexible and reliable and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Please note that this role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council delivers, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and did so for an agreed period of five years from 1 July 2013. The original five year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years. 

The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
