An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Procurement and Contract Monitoring Team at the Isle of Wight Council. 

The team is responsible for sourcing a diverse range of goods, works and services in accordance with the Council’s Procurement Strategy, Contract Standing Orders and EU and UK legislative requirements and we are seeking an organised and commercially aware individual to fulfil the role of Procurement Officer. 

The post will provide support to the Council’s Regeneration directorate which has embarked on a 10-year programme of place-based regeneration including a mixed-use harbour development in Newport, a new business park in Ryde and the delivery of affordable housing via a newly established wholly owned company. The procurement support to the Regeneration programme includes advising project managers on the development of appropriate contract specifications, advice on the best route to market and supporting the programme management team in ensuring effective scheduling of procurement activity to secure timely project delivery.

We are looking for a confident, commercially astute individual who can demonstrate creative thinking and problem solving with a keen eye for detail.

You will have excellent analytical skills, be highly organised, and possess excellent communication and personal management skills. You will also have strong IT skills including the use of MS Word, and Excel.
