We are looking for passionate and proactive care assistants to join our team in the children's home at Beaulieu House. We are looking specifically for people to join our team who enjoy supporting people with behaviours that challenge. You will need to demonstrate experience supporting people with communication difficulties and behaviours that challenge. You will have the ability to prioritise, work on your own initiative and be part of a team.


Beaulieu House is a children's home and short breaks service for children with disabilities located in Newport Isle of Wight. Our recent Ofsted inspection graded us as 'Good'. Ofsted reported that 'The children are treated with dignity and respect. They are not disadvantaged or socially isolated. Their differences are embraced and celebrated, and they feel free to express their individuality without fear or judgement.'

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council has delivered, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and will continue to do so until 2023. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.


The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
