It’s an exciting time to join the team as we move to a ‘digital by default’ mindset. We are adopting Government Digital Services best practice to support our digital strategy, focusing on ensuring the Islands needs are met by the best public digital services.
Joining the Isle of Wight Council will ensure you have substantial impact and our work will challenge you in new ways as you tackle both the major and smaller development projects which will deliver a vital programme of work for Childrens Services, joining up ‘Early Help’ resources to support families and vulnerable children across our Island, as part of the MHCLG Supporting Families Programme. This will enable us to provide easier access to a range of services in a user friendly, digitally focused way. Our work will literally change lives for the better.
But it’s not just the great projects, choosing the Isle of Wight Council means you’ll be well supported by our high achieving, friendly and approachable software development team.
Plus, this role offers flexible and agile working arrangements, 31 days holiday (plus bank holidays) along with access to a wide range of benefits and a generous pension scheme!

We offer a fantastic work environment for systematic, analytical problem solvers and we will encourage and enable you to work independently and take ownership of your workloads.
This team is flexible and creative in our approach to development work and we encourage innovation, so you’ll be able to utilise your knowledge / experience of server and client- side development technologies including:
- Microsoft.Net Core / Microsoft .Net MVC
- C# and Object Orientated programming
- Microsoft SQL Server / Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
- Webservices REST/SOAP/WCF/JSON
