A rare opportunity has arisen for the Isle of Wights Hospital Social Work Team to appoint an Administrative Officer who will be required to provide a full range of administrative duties and support to this very busy team of dedicated workers who work under the umbrella of the national award winning Integrated Discharge Team (IDT) based at St Marys Hospital.

The post holder will be required to organise and minute confidential and sensitive meetings to a high standard. These meetings will contain complex information, therefore proven minute taking skills are essential. You will gather and analyse data, have excellent IT skills with a good knowledge of a variety of IT packages, including Excel.

The role requires you to review and implement new systems within the service as well as work closely with the team members and the group manager, so being able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is essential.

The Hospital Social Work Team operates several services within the hospital environment and an Isle of Wight community-based service, and you will have contact with people that are being discharged from hospital, family members, carers, and partner agencies. We also operate an inform and advise service in line with the Care Act 2014.

We are going through an amazing period of change working in partnership with the Isle of Wight's NHS Trust and partners from the private and voluntary sector which will present with its own challenges which the right person will rise to. A flexible approach to work and a willingness to learn is essential as is the ability to work within a team and under pressure.
