About the role:
Here on the Isle of Wight we are investing in our AMHP Service. This is really exciting times, with the progression of our AMHP service; we are building on the structure and recognising the work a specialist service which provides a safe service on the Isle of Wight. We have recently created and successfully employed an additional full time AMHP as well as a trainee AMHP. We currently have new advert out to secure a second trainee post.
Now all we need is a progressive lead to support the transition and build on future developments. We are looking for an AMHP Manager who has an abundance of enthusiasm to support the AMHPs and drive the service. This post will be rewarding for the successful candidate, as you will be fundamental to the changes driving positive outcomes for people who need this service.
We are looking for a manager who will continue to practise in this area to support everyday challenges; but you will also be integral to providing quality supervision, reflective sessions, training, policy writing as well as partnership working being integral in promoting future developments from agencies on the island and nationally.
We are in the process of implementing a new AMHP report as well as a new platform to collate all our resources, we would wish these areas to be developed further by the AMHP manager.
As the service is relatively small the AMHPs also hold a caseload from the mental health team, so you will work closely with the mental health team manager.
On the island we work closely with our partners to develop services for people coming into contact with the mental health services, therefore its vital that you hold the value of integration which will offer the potential for future collaborations, leading to positive outcomes.
Although the work-base is in Newport, we work more agile and therefore you would also be working from home.
You will need to have sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act, as well as all other Acts that have close interface with the Mental Health Act.
We need the AMHP manager to be an experienced AMHP able to draw on your own experiences to contribute to the service learning and education with other partners.
To join us you must have the following:
* A qualified social worker, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or chartered Psychologist with regulatory registration;
* Being a practising AMHP for a minimum of 2 years;
* Desire to work collaboratively;
* Willing to work on the AMHP rota as well as offering management support to other AMHPs when on AMHP duty.
