The Isle of Wight Council is looking to recruit a Subsidy Benefit Assistant to provide administration support and undertake operational tasks and activities in relation to Council Tax, Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support. You will also be required to assist with the accuracy checking and processing of all types of Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support claims.


The successful candidate will have practical experience in an appropriate work environment and experience dealing with customers. It would be desirable to have working knowledge of Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support, as well as the Northgate and Civica systems.


This is a career progression role starting at a Grade 3 and once training has been completed the successful applicant will progress to a Grade 4.


You would be required to work in any of the Council Offices and from home remotely. Training will be given in the office.
