Can you lead the way to a bright future for the Isle of Wight?
Here on the Island, we ‘Believe In Great’ and this ‘BIG’ ethos runs through everything we do as we work with the local community to support and sustain the Islands economy, environment and people.
The Isle of Wight is a stunning place to live and work, with 50% designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty! The Island (and waters surrounding it) has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, providing international recognition of our unique natural landscape and we currently have the highest number of award-winning beaches in England!
The local population is around 140,000 but can double in summer months as people flock to our shores for a taste of Island life. We are lucky to enjoy everything the Island has to offer, but as a community we also face unique geographical challenges that will test your leadership skills and encourage you to think differently, to inspire and innovate.
Join us and you’ll lead a dedicated and passionate team as we deliver on our corporate plan, placing focus on three key areas of activity:
• Provision of affordable housing for Island residents
• Responding to climate change and enhancing the biosphere
• Economic recovery
The Island has always encouraged innovation and creativity whilst celebrating tradition, from age-old sailing regattas to pioneering technical advances in engineering. As our Chief Executive you’ll navigate the path between tradition and innovation to ensure this Island continues to progress digitally, environmentally, technically and socially without losing sight of our unique identity. All this whilst enjoying a coastal lifestyle that is hard to beat!
