Working in one of the council’s most high priority areas, the connect4communities team is looking for an Admin Support Officer to assist with the administration of the DWP Household Support Fund, to benefit vulnerable Island residents with the rising cost of food, utilities and wider essentials. Working to the Project Manager, and alongside the connect4communities team in Hampshire County Council the job will offer a variety of tasks. 

This varied role will include duties such as:

- Preparation of materials for meetings and events
- General office duties such as high speed, accurate word processing, diary, and inbox management
- Communication in a variety of forums with personnel at all levels, both internal and external to the organisation
- Undertaking appropriate research as and when required

Prior experience of the workings of a Government grant would be an advantage but is not essential. Due to grant conditions, this is currently a 12mth fixed term post.

This role falls within the strategic partnership between the Isle of Wight Council and Hampshire County Council. The employer will be the Isle of Wight Council and employment is on Isle of Wight terms and conditions. Hampshire County Council has delivered, on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council, all of its children’s services functions and will continue to do so until 2023. The original five-year partnership arrangement under direction of the Secretary of State finished in 2018 but has been extended voluntarily by both local authorities for a further five years.

The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services.
