Join a community pantry
Community Pantries and Larders are independent provisions across the Island that provide short-term help with food and, when available, essential hygiene items to residents facing financial hardship.
These spaces are designed to be welcoming and safe for everyone, giving a sense of inclusion and belonging. They not only offer immediate support but also aim to connect individuals with additional services or resources that may help address broader needs related to their financial situation.
Community Pantries / Larders can help you top-up (not replace) your supermarket shop.
By joining a Community Pantry / Larder you will be able to visit once per week.
Your £5 payment you will allow you to choose fresh, frozen or cupboard essentials totalling more than £15 in value.
- membership is not means tested and you do not need to be on benefits to use a pantry
- to join you need to complete a short form
- you do not have to use the nearest pantry to you, but some provisions have restricted membership based on your address
- check
with the provision of your choice whether you can join it
- you do not have to use the pantry / larder every week - if you do not visit you do not pay
- if you have special dietary requirements, talk to the pantry team - they may be able to help
- if you cannot get to a community pantry, ask your nearest one if a delivery service is available
- each pantry / larder works with partner organisations who may be able to assist you with the root cause of your financial difficulties - speak to the pantry team for more information
