I need help for myself or someone else

In immediate danger?

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 and ask for the police.

Your safety is the priority.

If it’s not safe to speak, you can use the Silent Solution system.

Here is how the Silent Solution system works:

  1. Dial 999 as usual.
  2. If you’re unable to talk, stay on the line. You’ll be directed to an automated system.
  3. Press 55 when prompted, and you’ll be connected to your local police force.

This video shows you what you will hear when you need to use the Silent Solution service.

If you are being subjected to domestic abuse, it’s vital to remember this is not your fault.

Even if you’re unsure but something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts—it probably isn’t.
You may feel isolated, like no one can help.

But you are not alone.

Support is available.

Talking to someone about what you’re going through can make a big difference, helping you feel less alone and understand your options.

If you’re in immediate danger or know someone who is, please call 999 straight away.

Victim Care Hub

The Victim Care Hub offers domestic abuse services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

These services provide ongoing support not only to victim-survivors of ongoing domestic abuse but also to those subjected to abuse in the past. Witnesses of abuse, including friends, family members, and colleagues of survivors, are also supported.

The Victim Care Hub supports

  • victim-survivors aged 16 and above, including those subjected to ongoing or past domestic abuse, ensuring tailored assistance to meet individual needs
  • children and young people impacted by domestic abuse, regardless of the level of risk, offering guidance on best practices for managing family risk situations
  • flexible support options, including face-to-face meetings, phone support, and online methods such as Zoom, ensuring accessibility for everyone
  • a 24/7 Live Chat and Supportline service to provide assistance outside of traditional office hours, allowing victim-survivors to seek help whenever they need it most
  • referrals, including self-referrals, as well as those from the police and other agencies

It’s important to note that the abuse does not need to be reported to the police in order to access support.

All staff at the Hub are trained in responding to domestic abuse disclosures. They also proactively offer support to anyone accessing their services, ensuring that no one in need goes without assistance.

Visit the Victim Support website to learn more about their Live Chat and Supportline services.
