Portable Antiquities Scheme
The Portable Antiquities Scheme and the Treasure Act
What to do if you find an object
- Report It Promptly: Under the Treasure Act 1996, you are legally required to report all potential treasure finds to the local coroner within 14 days of discovery.
- Email the Isle of Wight FLO for help identifying and recording your find. They will assist you with the reporting process and offer advice on best practices for handling and preserving the object.
