Free library book delivery to your home
Do you love reading but are unable to visit your local library?
Our Home Library Service (HLS) may be able to help. It's free and delivers books in normal and large print and on spoken word CDs, across the Isle of Wight to customers who are unable to get to their local library for a variety of reasons.
Who can use this service?
You may qualify if you can’t visit a library because of:
- Disability
- Limited mobility
- Long-term illness
- Caring responsibilities
- Inability to carry materials to and from the library
- Experiencing mental health challenges
Your need for this service may be:
- long-term
- seasonal (illness or disability worsened by bad weather conditions)
- temporary (following a severe accident or recuperating from a serious illness)

Applying for the Home Library Service
If you think you qualify or know someone who does or are interested in finding out more then you can:

- or collect a paper application form from any Isle of Wight Library
What happens next?
When we have received your application form, we will phone you to:
- confirm your eligibility
- find out what you like to read
- discuss the format you prefer (books, large print, audiobooks)
