County Hall reopens for appointments

County Hall reception, Isle Help and Ryde Help Centre have now reopened for essential pre-booked appointments only.

Ryde Help Centre will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Friday only.

For people with urgent needs for information, advice and guidance, appointments can be booked by calling (01983) 823134 where an advisor will discuss your enquiry and whether it can be resolved by an alternative method.

Councillor Chris Jarman, Cabinet member for strategic finance, corporate resources and transformational change, said: “I’m pleased we are able to reopen our front door, but must stress that while COVID-19 is still with us, I would still encourage people to minimise face-to-face enquiries with the council or Isle Help wherever possible.

"Many council transactions and enquiries can be undertaken online or electronically with Isle Help. People visiting our offices and venues across the Island are strongly encouraged to wear a face covering where possible, use the hand sanitiser available and keep their distance from others.”

It might be helpful to know that:

• you can pay your council tax online, by direct debit or at your local bank or post office;

• you can report changes for housing benefit, council tax benefit and council tax online or via email;

• you can submit evidence to support claims such as housing benefit and council tax benefit online or by email and uploading proofs.

Citizens Advice (Isle Help) also continues to operate an appointment system and can be contacted on Adviceline: 0800 144 88 48 and Textphone: 18001 0800 144 8884.
