Councillor Claire Critchison, chairperson of the Isle of Wight Council is inviting all children and young people across the island to get creative and send in their best snowmen, reindeers, or festive Christmas trees to feature on this year’s Council Christmas card design.

The card, which goes out to hundreds of island-based businesses and organisations, will showcase a festive seasonal image that celebrates the best of the island at wintertime.

Councillor Critchison said: “I am so excited to see the designs the children and young people will create.

I would like them to let their imaginations go crazy with Christmas spirit. We have so many amazing Isle of Wight features that could be given a Christmas makeover or design a whole new Island Landmark.”

Need some inspiration? Last year’s winner, nine-year-old Ozzy of Niton sent in his design of a festive looking St Catherine’s Oratory with Santa Claus flying overhead.

Designs can be submitted to civic.affairs@iow.gov.uk, via post or handed into County Hall, addressed to the chairperson from the 27th of September until the 31st of October.
