Consultation - New Traffic Regulation Order to Improve Road Safety

The Isle of Wight Council has today announced a consultation on the proposed traffic regulation amendment aimed at enhancing road safety and traffic flow across two streets in Gunville, Newport.
Residents and stakeholders are invited to review the draft Order, which can be found on the Isle of Wight Council website Gunville, various streets

The closing date is 12noon Friday 12 December 2025.
Michelle Love, Service Director for Highways and Community Protection said "These changes are part of our ongoing commitment to making Isle of Wight roads safer and more accessible for everyone. By addressing known pinch points and improving visibility, we’re helping to create a more reliable and secure environment for residents, visitors, and emergency services alike."
Changes proposed include the introduction of ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restrictions on specific sections of Arthus Moody Drive, Broadwood Lane, Forest Hills, and Park Close. These measures are designed to reduce potential hazards for road users and pedestrians, support access for all traffic classes, and accommodate a new development in the area.
