EYSEN support service for childcare settings

Early Years Special Educational Needs support service

Childcare settings receive support from our advisors. Their role is to work with the childcare setting to ensure all children are included.

Our advisors will enable Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCo) and staff working in childcare settings to develop an inclusive early learning environment. The support is provided through termly planning meetings. This will be with the SENCo and a training package will be available to all early years settings.

EYSEN funding

Limited funding is available for the childcare setting to provide:

  • enhanced support
  • specialist equipment.

Disability Access Funding (DAF)

Three- and four-year-olds will be eligible for the DAF if the child is in receipt of child disability living allowance and the child qualifies for free early years education.

Four-year-olds in primary school reception classes are not eligible for DAF funding.
