Alternative Payment Options
Depending on your circumstances and they type and length of care and support that you need we may be able to offer your alternative payment options to fund your care.
Third Party Top-Up Payments
We will agree to pay the Local Authority standard rate for your residential or nursing home care, but occasionally some homes will want to charge more than this price, this additional cost is known as a top up. Third party top up payments are an additional payment, made by a third party, towards this additional cost.
Your social care worker must be aware of a third party top up and they will be able to discuss this with you and the third party.

Deferred Payment Scheme
If you are moving from your home into a care home and, if most of your money is tied up in your property and you have very little savings, we may offer you the option of the Deferred Payment Scheme. What this means is you won’t have to sell your home immediately to pay for the care home’s fees.
A Deferred Payment Scheme is an arrangement with us that lets you use the value of your home to help pay care home costs. If you’re eligible, we will help to pay your care home bills on your behalf. You delay repaying us until your home is sold.
