Fort Victoria Country Park

Education and Outdoor Learning

People on beach

one to two hour Ranger led session at Fort Victoria Country Park

The session starts with a 30 minute handling in the corner room. You will handle and learn about seaweed, crabs, shellfish, geology and fossils at the country park.

You can then enjoy a walk around the parks 22 hectares of woodland. You will learn about the wildlife and habitat which includes red squirrels, dormice and bats. You will also discover how the Islands woodland is different to mainland woodland, as we have no deer, and how being separated from the mainland has helped local wildlife.

Following the woodland walk, you will enjoy a shoreline rummage on the beach. We ask you to help our Rangers by finding different types of seaweed, shells and looking for crabs and sea anemones, as well as stones and fossils.

Other outdoor learning

Our Rangers can also provide other outdoor learning activities such as a rock pool rummage or woodland exploration. We can also support outdoor learning for other subjects, such as art, as well as provide bespoke learning for older students, such as GCSE and A level.

The 2021/22 cost is £4.00 per child. Minimum charge £60.00 (15 children)
